Leinster take on Wasps at home in the RDS in the first of this season’s European Champions Cup games.

Gibson-Park is cut to allow Fardy and Lowe to take part. Given Lowe’s recent try-scoring shows, it was not too big a surprise to see him take his place.

Jamison will be missed if this goes to the wire. He is great at closing games out.

The bookies do not seem to think that Leinster will have much difficulty seeing off the challenge. The handicap spread is 17 points.

If Lowe and company get the ball in the backline, and the conditions don’t cause too many issues, the first try should come from the backs.

It’s been a blustery, showery day in Dublin as storm Callum passed over, but the weather seems to be calming down somewhat. Gentle breezes from the southwest and not much more rain this evening.

I’m picking Josh van der Flier to pick up where he left off a few weeks ago and to emerge man of the match. I hope he gets the first try, a nice bet at 16/1.
